Register Grate, 19” x 23” x 1”, watercolor, acrylic paint, and pen on foamboard and watercolor paper

This was a floor heating grate used in my grandparents house in Ohio. I still use it as a hot plate today, and decided to recreate it’s original purpose. This isn’t a portrait in the traditional sense, but it does evoke a lot of my grandparents personality and creates an image of them in a different way. One of my favorites.
